Life is hard. Being human is tough. It can be difficult to hold onto hope sometimes. Evangelynn wants you to know that you are not alone - there is hope. She would love to walk with you and help you navigate life's challenges, uncover your strengths, find meaning for the broken pieces in your story, and walk forward with renewed purpose.
Evangelynn’s work is shaped by her own life experiences and her own healing journey. Her approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that a genuine human-to-human connection is the foundation of healing. She is focused on getting to know who you are as a person and what makes you, you.
Evangelynn is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and brings over eight years of experience working with adults across various fields, including community outreach, criminal justice, and private practice. She has a background of working with individuals who have experienced adverse childhood experiences, complex trauma, addiction, homelessness, relationship conflict, and mental health challenges.
Evangelynn uses an integrated, client-focused approach of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT). Essentially, this means that you will work in collaboration with Evangelynn to develop goals, prioritize goals, and approach those goals in a way that works best for you. She is committed to meeting you exactly where you are with compassion, curiosity, and understanding – and of course, a little bit of humour!
Outside of the therapy room, Evangelynn enjoys photography, hiking, traveling, exploring new coffee shops, and re-watching her favourite sitcoms.
