Husainat is currently a Registered Psychotherapist member of the CRPO. She completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Mental Health with a minor in Psychology at Carleton University, and earned her master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.
Over the years, Husainat has been involved in activism and advocacy to break the stigma surrounding mental health, increase mental health awareness, improve education about mental health, and address the need for accessibility to mental health services for racialized communities and all communities.
In addition, she has volunteer experience as a peer support worker, providing support and crisis interventions in various settings and communities, and delivering mental health workshops focused on mental health literacy and anti-oppression.

I am focused on providing therapy through an anti-oppressive, intersectional, culturally sensitive, and informed lens to all persons inclusive of BIPOC, minority, and immigrant communities.
