Event Description
Dr. Kimberly Sogge CPsych offers a Maudsley Parents training day (aka Parents of Teens with EDs Bootcamp Day) to introduce parents of teens with EDs to the skills involved in family-based treatment of eating disorders in adolescents. This treatment has evidence indicating greater long term efficacy than inpatient treatment, and is implemented in partnership with a Maudsley-trained mental health professional. This bootcamp day is to orient parents to Maudsley treatment, to practice skills used in Maudsley treatment, and to gain exposure to some additional DBT skills useful for dealing with conflicts and stress associated with the presence of an ED in a family.
