Our primary objective for the annual CGPA conference is to provide the space and the opportunity for many lively and constructive conversations about group to take place.
CGPA prides itself on its diverse, multidisciplinary membership, recognizing the unique and valuable contributions of different professional groups and therapeutic modalities and the importance of including individuals at every stage in the learning process.
We recognize the importance and relevance of understanding group dynamics and process. We seek to share this knowledge and encourage the use of skillful group approaches in many diverse locations including health care, education and community settings.
We see the conference as a rich opportunity for professional and personal growth and aim to provide a wide variety of learning opportunities to a diverse community of lifelong learners.
We envision the conference as a group experience that allows those in attendance to contribute their unique perspectives as well as providing a rich opportunity to learn from others. We see and encourage opportunities for networking and professional collaboration.
We aim to keep the conference accessible and require that all in attendance, including workshop presenters, pay the conference registration fee. This allows us to keep the conference costs as affordable as possible. CGPA is a non-profit association and any profit generated from the conference is directed toward the promotion of group advocacy and education across Canada.
