Consumer/survivor initiative, whereby individuals who have successfully coped with their own mental health issues offer support to others who are struggling. A consumer is a person with lived experiece of mental illness. Consumer/Survivor Initiatives (CSIs) are consumer-driven agencies, which allow survivors to use their coping skills to help other consumers become survivors.
