Family Mediation and Resource Centre (FMRC) |
FMR Centre can help you during your separation and after! At FMRC, we strongly believe that families should settle their disputes outside of Court and in the best interests of each family member. We are here to provide your family with the support it needs through this transition AND to help you keep your family matters where they belong: in the family!
Services:
Family Mediation: a voluntary process where parents attempt to resolve their disputes with the help of a neutral professional (the mediator). Through discussions and negotiations facilitated by a qualified mediator, the parents may reach a mutually agreeable resolution
Benefits of Mediation:
Focus is kept on the best interests of the children
You have the ability to customize the agreements to fit your family’s needs
You have control over the process and ability to directly affect the outcome
You have the opportunity to speak directly to the other person about issues of concern, in a neutral and safe environment
You have the opportunity to learn skills for better communication and cooperative problem solving
All discussions that occur during mediation will be kept confidential and cannot be used in a court proceeding
Less formal and less adversarial than litigation
Free Workshops:
Monthly Coparenting Workshop
Monthly Free Family Law Information Session
Monthly Support Group for Divorced Women with Children
*See website for more details
