Event Description
OMI Lacombe Canada’s Office of Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation (JPIC) in partnership with Saint Paul University is pleased to invite you to attend a Symposium on Friday, October 16, from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The Symposium will take place at Saint Paul University, 223 Main St. Ottawa, Ontario, in the Amphitheatre. The theme of the symposium is: “End-of-Life Care: Challenges in Our Post-Christian World”. We hope to offer an educational opportunity regarding the implications of the Supreme Court decision to strike down the Canadian law relating to assisted suicide. As a caring church and wider society, what are our options? Should we be lobbying for better and more available palliative and spiritual care? What should that care look like and how will it be funded? Our speakers and panelists are all experts in different aspects of this important issue which affects all of us now and will affect us in the future. We shall be covering these topics:
