As a Social Worker, Psychotherapist and Qualified Mindfulness Instructor, I work with you to help you make sense of your own life experiences, understand how your past affects you now, and make positive changes. Mindfulness is an integral part of my personal and professional practice. Since 2009 I have studied the intersection of Buddhism and Psychology and I have partnered with several government and public institutions to run accessible mindfulness programs for staff and students (i.e. Ontario Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, UofT, Central LHIN, The Princess Margaret). I also offer Mindfulness training and Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) groups to prevent burnout and manage stress.
My specialty is in working with cancer survivors & their family members, and with students/young adults dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma and self-esteem issues. At Wellspring, The Princess Margaret and CAMH I have worked with individuals facing cancer, trauma, depression, loss of independence, anger, isolation, suicidal thoughts, as well as in research for several years.
I work from a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive and non-judgmental lens in addressing deep-seated challenges, which can involve internalized stigma and shame. I offer sliding scale fees, as I strongly believe that therapy should be accessible to everyone. “The most difficult times for many of us are the ones we give ourselves” P. Chodron. I invite you to contact me for a free 15 min phone call to discuss your needs. LGBTQ+ positive
