Event Description
This training will support you to equip yourself with the tools you need to offer services to families, children and youth in a safe, gender affirming and health-promoting way. Tools can be simple to acquire (for example, understanding and affirming pronoun use or knowing how to support a young person to navigate documentation changes) but can have evidence-based, positive health impacts. We’ll share strategies to support young people and families to develop resilience and to equip themselves to cope with homophobia, bi-phobia and transphobia in a way that reduces the negative mental health impacts of experiencing discrimination.This full day of self and organizational auditing, planning and practice will support the implementation of changes to services and service environments for young people and families to more effectively promote self-determination, resilience and competence.
