Event Description
In this two-day workshop, Dr Ross will explain how the dissociative structural model integrates a wide range of diagnoses, symptoms, defenses and addictions into a unified treatment plan. He will then explain the principles of Trauma Model Therapy including: the problem of attachment to the perpetrator; the locus of control shift; just say ‘no’ to drugs; addiction is the opposite of desensitization; and the victim-rescuer-perpetrator triangle. Most of the workshop will be spent on case examples and illustrations of specific techniques and interventions. Attendees are encouraged to ask for case consultation and consultation on specific treatment problems. Trauma Model Therapy involves a blend of cognitive, systems and psychodynamic principles and is suitable for many different addictions and mental disorders.Disclaimer
