Seasons Centre for Grieving Children |
A registered charitable organization for children who experience grief caused by the death of a parent or sibling or for children who have an immediate family member diagnosed with a terminal illness.
Since 1995 the Seasons Centree for Grieving Children has provided peer support groups to children, teens and their families who have experienced the death of a loved one.
A peer support centre for children who are experiencing grief as a result of death or living with someone diagnosed with a terminal illness. Extends grief support services to the family, caregivers, schools and the community. Groups include Sons and Daughters, Siblings and Friends, Little People, Teen Group, Young Adults, and the Parent Group. Special Issue Groups include What About Me? (a group for a child living with someone who has a life threatening illness), Healing from Suicide or Murder (especially traumatic experiences), and a summer camp program called "Grief Busters."
Other program services include Educational Services for professionals and students; Community Outreach; Internships and Practicums for students requiring work placements and practical experience to fulfill their academic curriculum requirements.
