Mohan, Samantha - Registered Psychotherapist, MA, RP, Psychotherapist
Transformation Counselling
Private practice (individual)
Samantha is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She completed her Masters degree in Counselling Psychology at Western University, and holds an Honours degree in Psychology with a Major in Criminal Justice from Brescia University College. Samantha discovered her passion for complex mental health when she completed research at a local Withdrawal Management Centre. She later pursued a position at the organization where she developed strong crisis intervention skills and supported individuals who were acutely intoxicated, in severe withdrawal, in psychosis, and those who were experiencing chronic homelessness. Following this experience, it became her goal as a practitioner to adopt a trauma-informed perspective and to bear witness to the lived experience of others.

Samantha has worked with post-secondary students, adults, and seniors with a variety of concerns and has specialized experience and expertise in treating concurrent disorders across the lifespan. Samantha has worked in intensive outpatient programs running both individual and group therapy sessions that emphasize the importance of understanding the root cause of the challenges individuals are facing. Samantha stands alongside her clients to help them develop skills and grow their inner confidence to cope effectively with life's challenges.

Samantha's goal as a therapist is to ensure her clients never feel alone when they experience the peaks and valleys within their lives. She aims to help her clients identify and process what is getting in the way of them achieving their goals. Through her own personal experience, Samantha has a special interest in helping people cultivate their strength and resiliency when surviving traumatic experiences and aims to help them identify where they get "stuck". Samantha is passionate about helping others build their sense of self, find hope, and understand that they are deserving of love, care, and respect from others.

She believes strongly in the importance of life-long learning and regularly seeks opportunities to grow as a practitioner. Samantha works collaboratively with her clients and holds a non-judgmental, calm, and compassionate space. Her approach to therapy is collaborative, client-centered, and strength-based. In her spare time, Samantha enjoys going for hikes, canoeing, spending time with her two cats, and cooking new recipes with her partner.
